Through the Farm to School program at Oxnard Union High School District, I lead garden and nutrition education initiatives that empower students to build lifelong healthy habits. I emphasize seasonal, culturally relevant foods and address food insecurity by distributing local organic produce, recipes, and seeds—sparking curiosity and inspiring families to grow their own food. I also collaborate with school cafeteria teams to develop seasonal dishes, including our signature “Harvest of the Month” side salad, and host family cooking nights that build confidence in cooking and meal creation using local, seasonal vegetables.
